10.06.2010 Affecto supports Tekes’ transfer to an electronic document management system Tekes (the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation) is one of the first organizations to implement an electronic document management system based on SÄHKE requirements. Affecto has been involved in the project extensively - all the way from applying for the electronic records management system license from the National Archives to the eventual auditing. "The license for electronic records management provides a platform for converting processes electronically, which translates into significant cost savings for us. Previously all documents were examined by hand before archiving. Now we have an information steering/control plan that outlines rules for handling electronic records. This significantly decreases our workload," says Maija-Liisa Pylkkänen, records manager from Tekes. The system provided for Tekes meets the requirements of the so called SÄHKE project, set by the Finnish National Archives Service. SÄHKE deals with issues such as standardized metadata, the format of archiving as well as the stability and integrity of the information. It defines the demands and operating models for the public sector when establishing and transferring electronic documents in an electronic format to the National Archives. "We have thorough knowledge of SÄHKE requirements, and are thus able to advise our clients in content management process development. Additionally, Affecto has multiplied information system solutions, meeting the SÄHKE criteria, readily available for implementing an information management plan," describes Petri Hakanen, director, ECM solutions, Affecto.
